I'm so excited! I won my first signature challenge! When I submitted my signature, I never expected to win. I was competing again a lot of very nice designs, and I'm still such a newbie at this. We were all given a tutorial to follow. There is a week for the voting to take place, then they announce the winners the following week. There are several challenges each week. I didn't expect to see my own name on the winners' list. When I created this siggy, I didn't expect it to have a chance to win, because the original used a Gorjuss tube. I don't have any of those, nor do I ever intend to. I just don't care for the look of them - they seem a bit too cutesy for my tastes. But they are enormously popular, so I knew there would be others that had the proper tube, and lots of fans who would prefer that style over my non-Gorjuss tube. Happy St. Patrick's Day Tut: Green and Gold

I'm Irish, so I have been looking for St. Patrick's Day tutorials. I've found some, but they often use pay kits, which is a bummer, since money is tight. I'll try to play around and see if I can do some substitutions, and come up some Irish siggys. This was a tough one. I didn't have a super close up to use, and when I tried to get one large enough to fill the frame, it got all fuzzy. So I backed off the close up a bit, and misty'd it up a bit. I then gave it a gold wash, using the gold paper underneath and a legacy luminance. Creating that frame was a challenge in itself. It wasn't actually a frame, but a shield, and they wanted me to erase out the center. Because of the design, I couldn't just use a magic wand. Rats. But I think it came out okay in the end.
