This was a pretty design, I thought. It was frustrating to work on, because I could only use a demo of the plugin, which didn't seem to match up to the instruction in the tut. I suspect the tut was written before the plugin went PTU or something, and it was more simplified. Perhaps I'm wrong on that assumption, but that's the feeling I got. I had to fiddle with it to get it the way I wanted, and it was tiring.

While I was proud of the finished result, for some reason I found this tut to be a let down, and was glad to be done with it. I guess my frustration with the plug in bothered me more than I thought. I don't think that's the fault of the tut writer. So don't go by my negativity and give the tut a try for yourself. I love the other tuts I've done by this writer. All very excellent.

Preset Shape from a Dingbat Tutorial

I enjoyed learning this. I was to find a dingbat font, and use one of the dingbats to create a preset shape. The dingbat challenge is to help us figure out how to make scrapbook kits, papers, elements, etc. I’m not sure yet how I’ll use it, but it’s good to know anyway. At least now I know there are preset shapes in there, and how to find them. You can find dingbat fonts (free!) that will provide you with most any shape you can imagine. So my first step was to go seeking dingbats. I found lots of them. One that I wanted to try had several different bunnies on it. (I like bunnies a lot, and I collect bunnies.) Then I followed the tutorial to create a preset shape. You discovered in my last two posts that I could use a preset shape to cut out a photo, so I tried the process again. Uber Newbie

I'm trying out a new hobby. I'm playing around with photo editing software, to learn how to create siggys. I have been dying to learn this, and now I've joined some tutorial groups in hopes of figuring this stuff out. My first tutorial was to learn how to make a very basic siggy. It was fun to play with. Now, I was just playing with the stuff built into the program - nothing fancy. But it was fun! And I came up with something that I didn't think was hideous. The software is already getting a little less scary. Maybe I'll be able to get this figured out one of these days. But for now, baby steps. I used PSPX3, but you can make this tag in other versions. This tutorial assumes a basic working knowledge of PSP. • A scrap kit.
