I loved working on this. I created the background by taking a small square of the tube and doing a seamless tile of it. I wasn't quite satisfied with it, so I added the sphere. Then I created the frame and added the golden elements. I varied from the tut a bit. I didn't have the jiggle plugin, so I tried a few things. I wasn't happy with any of it. So I finally just added some constellation effect, and I liked the look of that. I was rather pleased with how it all turned out. And I just love that tube of Jack. That's by Psyco Jimi, and I'm simply mesmerized by it. I found that quote and thought it complimented the expression well. I sent the tag to the artist. :)

Preset Shape from a Dingbat Tutorial

I enjoyed learning this. I was to find a dingbat font, and use one of the dingbats to create a preset shape. The dingbat challenge is to help us figure out how to make scrapbook kits, papers, elements, etc. I’m not sure yet how I’ll use it, but it’s good to know anyway. At least now I know there are preset shapes in there, and how to find them. You can find dingbat fonts (free!) that will provide you with most any shape you can imagine. So my first step was to go seeking dingbats. I found lots of them. One that I wanted to try had several different bunnies on it. (I like bunnies a lot, and I collect bunnies.) Then I followed the tutorial to create a preset shape. You discovered in my last two posts that I could use a preset shape to cut out a photo, so I tried the process again. Uber Newbie

I'm trying out a new hobby. I'm playing around with photo editing software, to learn how to create siggys. I have been dying to learn this, and now I've joined some tutorial groups in hopes of figuring this stuff out. My first tutorial was to learn how to make a very basic siggy. It was fun to play with. Now, I was just playing with the stuff built into the program - nothing fancy. But it was fun! And I came up with something that I didn't think was hideous. The software is already getting a little less scary. Maybe I'll be able to get this figured out one of these days. But for now, baby steps. Jacks Steam Punk This tutorial is © Mindless Scrap 2010. It may not be copied or reproduced in whole or in part without my written permission. You will need: • Paint Shop Pro. I used PSPX3, but you can make this tag in other versions. This tutorial assumes a basic working knowledge of PSP. • A scrap kit. This tutorial uses a FTU scrap kit, from Vicky at the True Laggin Love blog called Steampunk Dreams and is available from her blog . (Released in July of 2010). • A tube of choice. The tube I used is Steam Punk by Jeanna Jacks . You can purchase her art at Mistaken Art . I have a license to use this tube. Do not use this artwork unless you have a license to do so.
