Spring Daze


This was just for fun. I look for tuts that use PinUp Toons art, and stumbled across this. I thought it looked very sweet and innocent. A friend of mine must have agreed, because she wanted one for her daughter to hang in her room. Her daughter is also internet savy (like all kids her age I guess), so I made her the matching siggy, complete with animated butterflies. I hope she liked it.

I moved the butterflies into a slightly different position, though. For some reason, on the sample, they almost look like fruit flies or something, ROFL! The seemed better suited a little ways away from the girl.

This is very easy, but quite charming.

Preset Shape from a Dingbat Tutorial

I enjoyed learning this. I was to find a dingbat font, and use one of the dingbats to create a preset shape. The dingbat challenge is to help us figure out how to make scrapbook kits, papers, elements, etc. I’m not sure yet how I’ll use it, but it’s good to know anyway. At least now I know there are preset shapes in there, and how to find them. You can find dingbat fonts (free!) that will provide you with most any shape you can imagine. So my first step was to go seeking dingbats. I found lots of them. One that I wanted to try had several different bunnies on it. (I like bunnies a lot, and I collect bunnies.) Then I followed the tutorial to create a preset shape. You discovered in my last two posts that I could use a preset shape to cut out a photo, so I tried the process again. Uber Newbie

I'm trying out a new hobby. I'm playing around with photo editing software, to learn how to create siggys. I have been dying to learn this, and now I've joined some tutorial groups in hopes of figuring this stuff out. My first tutorial was to learn how to make a very basic siggy. It was fun to play with. Now, I was just playing with the stuff built into the program - nothing fancy. But it was fun! And I came up with something that I didn't think was hideous. The software is already getting a little less scary. Maybe I'll be able to get this figured out one of these days. But for now, baby steps. I used PSPX3, but you can make this tag in other versions. This tutorial assumes a basic working knowledge of PSP. • A scrap kit.
