Black Eyed Susans




I did this tut for fun. It had some interesting techniques in it for doing the background with plug ins. It also had some techniques for highlighting the edges of the flowers, which was neat to learn, but in this case, I'm not sure I liked the effect, at least on these particular photos. To me, it made the flowers look wilted or dead, LOL! Yuk. But I've also had people tell me they like the colors better. (I don't, but I guess I'm more of a bright yellow kinda gal.)

I did it both ways. First I did it just like the tut (only with a different tube). That's the darker image on the bottom. Then I remade it the way I wanted to see it. That's the brighter yellow image on top. See which one you like better. :)

Preset Shape from a Dingbat Tutorial

I enjoyed learning this. I was to find a dingbat font, and use one of the dingbats to create a preset shape. The dingbat challenge is to help us figure out how to make scrapbook kits, papers, elements, etc. I’m not sure yet how I’ll use it, but it’s good to know anyway. At least now I know there are preset shapes in there, and how to find them. You can find dingbat fonts (free!) that will provide you with most any shape you can imagine. So my first step was to go seeking dingbats. I found lots of them. One that I wanted to try had several different bunnies on it. (I like bunnies a lot, and I collect bunnies.) Uber Newbie

I'm trying out a new hobby. I'm playing around with photo editing software, to learn how to create siggys. I have been dying to learn this, and now I've joined some tutorial groups in hopes of figuring this stuff out. My first tutorial was to learn how to make a very basic siggy. It was fun to play with. Now, I was just playing with the stuff built into the program - nothing fancy. But it was fun! And I came up with something that I didn't think was hideous. The software is already getting a little less scary. Maybe I'll be able to get this figured out one of these days. But for now, baby steps. I used PSPX3, but you can make this tag in other versions. This tutorial assumes a basic working knowledge of PSP. • A scrap kit.
