Revised Preset Shape Submission


After exploring other challenges, I discovered one for creating a preset shape from a dingbat font. Very cool! But it also clued me in that I did the previous challenge incorrectly. Whoops. At least I could go back and delete it and re-enter. Sometimes this program makes me feel so foolish.

I went back and redid the "Cut Out a Photo With Preset Shapes" tutorial.

The purpose of the tutorial was to take a preset shape and use it to cut out a photo. I used the preset shape of a puzzle piece, since autism is a cause that is near and dear to my heart.

In my next post I'll show you how I took a dingbat font and created a preset shape. Then I used this same technique I used here and used it to cut out a photo.

I enjoyed learning this. I was to find a dingbat font, and use one of the dingbats to create a preset shape. The dingbat challenge is to help us figure out how to make scrapbook kits, papers, elements, etc. I’m not sure yet how I’ll use it, but it’s good to know anyway. At least now I know there are preset shapes in there, and how to find them. You can find dingbat fonts (free!) that will provide you with most any shape you can imagine. So my first step was to go seeking dingbats. I found lots of them. One that I wanted to try had several different bunnies on it. (I like bunnies a lot, and I collect bunnies.) Then I followed the tutorial to create a preset shape. You discovered in my last two posts that I could use a preset shape to cut out a photo, so I tried the process again. Uber Newbie

I'm trying out a new hobby. I'm playing around with photo editing software, to learn how to create siggys. I have been dying to learn this, and now I've joined some tutorial groups in hopes of figuring this stuff out. My first tutorial was to learn how to make a very basic siggy. It was fun to play with. Now, I was just playing with the stuff built into the program - nothing fancy. But it was fun! And I came up with something that I didn't think was hideous. The software is already getting a little less scary. Maybe I'll be able to get this figured out one of these days. But for now, baby steps.
