My First Creative Challenge



They have this cool thing called a Creative Challenge. That's where you are given a tube, frame, mask, font and brushes, and you are to create a siggy. You must use all of the goodies. (You can enter twice, and split them up between the two, but you must use all goodies between the two.) It must be sized appropriately, so that it isn't cut off when you post it. (I resized it larger here for better viewing).

I got some more practice with brushes on this. The flowers behind my name were brushed in. I also got practice at resizing masks. To get this to look the way I wanted, I resized the mask to fit around the frame, which was kinda fun. I also got all my frames and masks that were given to me (from the tutorial group)uploaded into the program! That was neat. FINALLY my tubes are readily available, too. And I've started uploading my brushes. To do these things, I had to learn where they are all located, which was a challenge in itself. But now that I know where they are, it will be easier to use them.

I feel so accomplished today!

Preset Shape from a Dingbat Tutorial

I enjoyed learning this. I was to find a dingbat font, and use one of the dingbats to create a preset shape. The dingbat challenge is to help us figure out how to make scrapbook kits, papers, elements, etc. I’m not sure yet how I’ll use it, but it’s good to know anyway. At least now I know there are preset shapes in there, and how to find them. You can find dingbat fonts (free!) that will provide you with most any shape you can imagine. So my first step was to go seeking dingbats. I found lots of them. One that I wanted to try had several different bunnies on it. (I like bunnies a lot, and I collect bunnies.) Then I followed the tutorial to create a preset shape. You discovered in my last two posts that I could use a preset shape to cut out a photo, so I tried the process again. Uber Newbie

I'm trying out a new hobby. I'm playing around with photo editing software, to learn how to create siggys. I have been dying to learn this, and now I've joined some tutorial groups in hopes of figuring this stuff out. My first tutorial was to learn how to make a very basic siggy. It was fun to play with. Now, I was just playing with the stuff built into the program - nothing fancy. But it was fun! And I came up with something that I didn't think was hideous. The software is already getting a little less scary. Maybe I'll be able to get this figured out one of these days. But for now, baby steps. I used PSPX3, but you can make this tag in other versions. This tutorial assumes a basic working knowledge of PSP. • A scrap kit.
