It's All In Black And White







I had a challenge in a different forum today. They posted a scrap kit that was all black and white. We were to make a siggy from it, without using any elements from outside the kit. (Masks, tubes and templates were okay, but nothing from another kit.)

I looked through my selection of tubes to see if I had anything in black and white. This tube called Leah by Keith Garvey was as close as I could get. I could do a black and white wash on the tube, to remove all color, but I rather liked the fact that she's in color. I think she stands out more that way. See what you think. I posted both. Do you like the black and white better? Or the color?

Preset Shape from a Dingbat Tutorial

I enjoyed learning this. I was to find a dingbat font, and use one of the dingbats to create a preset shape. The dingbat challenge is to help us figure out how to make scrapbook kits, papers, elements, etc. I’m not sure yet how I’ll use it, but it’s good to know anyway. At least now I know there are preset shapes in there, and how to find them. You can find dingbat fonts (free!) that will provide you with most any shape you can imagine. Uber Newbie

I'm trying out a new hobby. I'm playing around with photo editing software, to learn how to create siggys. I have been dying to learn this, and now I've joined some tutorial groups in hopes of figuring this stuff out. My first tutorial was to learn how to make a very basic siggy. It was fun to play with. Now, I was just playing with the stuff built into the program - nothing fancy. But it was fun! And I came up with something that I didn't think was hideous. The software is already getting a little less scary. Maybe I'll be able to get this figured out one of these days. But for now, baby steps.
