Pin Up Tutorial #2



I have been working on another tutorial. This time, I got better with using the "magic wand," and I got more experience with using kits and cropping elements. I also played with some photos in this one to get some practice.

This software delights me. It's way over my head, but at least I can figure out how to do what I want to do. And I've been able to find tutorials for anything that I haven't been able to discern on my own.

I'm not sure if I'm ready to try animation just yet, but it is starting to interest me. I saw this really neat falling heart animation (like glitter) that really appealed to me. I'm going to try to find it, but I'm not really certain where to look.

This digital scrapbook stuff is a lot of fun to work on, and it's quite addictive! I should have started this a long time ago. What a terrific creative outlet! I wish I could find some more free Valentine kits, though. I'd like to make more of those. I saw a couple nice ones this week, but sadly they weren't my preferred color choice. I'll keep my eyes out though.

It does seem like the search for kits and such is half the fun, LOL!

    at least you've figured out the magic wand-LOL! Thats more than I've accomplished! I'm still trying to figure out what how to use the simple tools-I did learn to do spot color...very proud!LOL!

Preset Shape from a Dingbat Tutorial

I enjoyed learning this. I was to find a dingbat font, and use one of the dingbats to create a preset shape. The dingbat challenge is to help us figure out how to make scrapbook kits, papers, elements, etc. I’m not sure yet how I’ll use it, but it’s good to know anyway. At least now I know there are preset shapes in there, and how to find them. You can find dingbat fonts (free!) that will provide you with most any shape you can imagine. So my first step was to go seeking dingbats. I found lots of them. One that I wanted to try had several different bunnies on it. (I like bunnies a lot, and I collect bunnies.) Uber Newbie

I'm trying out a new hobby. I'm playing around with photo editing software, to learn how to create siggys. I have been dying to learn this, and now I've joined some tutorial groups in hopes of figuring this stuff out. My first tutorial was to learn how to make a very basic siggy. It was fun to play with. Now, I was just playing with the stuff built into the program - nothing fancy. But it was fun! And I came up with something that I didn't think was hideous. The software is already getting a little less scary. Maybe I'll be able to get this figured out one of these days. But for now, baby steps. Jacks Steam Punk This tutorial is © Mindless Scrap 2010. It may not be copied or reproduced in whole or in part without my written permission. You will need: • Paint Shop Pro. I used PSPX3, but you can make this tag in other versions. This tutorial assumes a basic working knowledge of PSP. • A scrap kit. This tutorial uses a FTU scrap kit, from Vicky at the True Laggin Love blog called Steampunk Dreams and is available from her blog . (Released in July of 2010). • A tube of choice. The tube I used is Steam Punk by Jeanna Jacks . You can purchase her art at Mistaken Art . I have a license to use this tube. Do not use this artwork unless you have a license to do so.
